The Carnoustie Group - Great big melting pot

About Carnoustie Online!

Around four or five years ago as a part of a learning process brought about by a need to change professional direction. I looked very closely at the online services, and misinformation, being provided to the, people, businesses and groups within Carnoustie

Carnoustie Online is a response to some of my findings, The aim of this web site is to allow visitors and locals alike to access information and details on Carnoustie without being bombarded by unwanted adverts or ripped-off with a service they do not need or want.

It is entirely self funded and sponsorship free.

I've put below a list of some of the main objectives for both this web site and the Carnoustie Group as a whole. It's not all set in stone yet though!

  • Web site must contain no external advertising save for those providing services locally who can use areas set aside for this purpose.
  • Web sites must free to provide services to all regardless of race, creed or status.
  • Offered services must be free to the end user except in areas such as hosting and web design where costs will inevitably be incurred.
  • Web site should shut up and just get on with what it is supposed to be doing. :~)

If you have any questions, need more info, on the services we provide or on what we can do for you or your business then please feel free to contact us.

Update 05/2009:

It's been a while since I updated these pages but Carnoustie Online continues to grow with updates, additions and new features being added weekly.

In conjunction with the Rising Free Group we can now provide a wide range of services to both visitors and local businesses alike. We can now provide all of the following:

  • Internet Services
We can now a complete website package to local businesses. Everything from domain registration to a completed website stored and served from one of the most advanced data centres in the uk. Our websites are built using, html, css, php, MySql, javascript and all of the features we can provide.
There are costs involved but these are kept to an absolute minimum to ensure that our services remain accessible to all.

  • Directory Services
Our directory services are free for all to use. We do not make any charges whatsoever to either the visitor or to those listed within any of our directories.
We have business and link directories, a small classifieds area (needs work) and a noticeboard area for anyone that needs it.
Everything is human edited to ensure that these areas are kept up to date and free of spam advertising, allowing visitors to quickly find valid information.

  • Information Services
I'll have to admit to not being great at research but Carnoustie Online now provides a growing amount of information on Carnoustie, it's history, and it's current services.
We have just added a large amount of data, gleaned from other areas of the net, which still remains chiefly unedited, but none the less, informative. With this data now in a database it will soon become searchable and cross referenced for validity.

  • News Services
We have pulled together a collection of news feeds from reliable sources allowing visitors to quickly access up to date news items both local and planetary. Our plan is to add some video feeds to this in the near future and we will be creating our own news streams, with the help of Rising Free Media, over the next few months.
